Robert Van Otten, our loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and brother, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his grandson's home on May 14, 1998.Born September 28, 1907, to Aldert Gerrit and Catharina Wagenaar Van Otten in Carnovan, Iowa. Married Ruby Rock in 1926 in Bountiful, Utah; was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity. She preceded him in death on February 1, 1987.
Member of the LDS Church. He enjoyed working hard from daylight to dusk. He loved to travel and he enjoyed his family, especially family gatherings where all were there. He loved people. Daddy was a great prankster and loved playing jokes on people. He had many friends and will be missed by all.
Robert is survived by three children, Gail (John) Fullmer, Warnell Van Otten, Donna (Don) Haws; five brothers, Art, Pete, Al, Ralph, John; one sister, Helen. Robert had 24 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Monday, May 18, 1998, 11 a.m. at the Prescott Ward, 10975 So. Prescott Rd. (1630 East). Friends may call Sunday 5-7 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State, Murray and Monday one hour prior to service at the church. Interment: Sunset Gardens.
