Abbie Yates Burrows Spjut, age 64, passed away suddenly May 13, 1998, Salt Lake City.

Born May 3, 1934, Salt Lake City to Jesse Kimball Burrows and Lydia Fairbanks Yates. Married Roy Albert Spjut September 23, 1957, Salt Lake Temple.Active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she faithfully served in many capacities. She spent her life continually striving to make others happy. She will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. As an accomplished pianist, organist and vocalist she shared her love for music with others. She was a member of the Jay Welch Chorale and the Choral Arts Society of Utah. Abbie graduated from Granite High School (1952) and attended Brigham Young University.

Survived by her husband; three children, David (Becky) Spjut, West Valley City, UT; Daniel (Ann) Spjut, Holladay, UT; Kristine (Bart) McFall, Riverton, UT; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; seven sisters and one brother, Annette Church, Sacramento, CA; Leah (Jesse) Poulsen, Murray, UT; Marvin (Shirla) Burrows, Cedar City, UT; Naomi (Lynn) Foote, Sandy, UT; Nancy (Edward) Wright; Mary (John) Robison; Frances (Norman) Nelson; Rebecca Burrows; Murray, UT.

Funeral service will be held Monday, May 18, 1998 at 12 noon in the Haven Ward, 2280 South 300 East. Friends may call Sunday, May 17 from 5-8 p.m. at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, and on Monday at the ward from 10:30-11:45 a.m. prior to service. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
