Free and low-cost health screenings will be available to anyone over 44 at the IHC Senior Health Fair today from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. It will be held in the IHC Senior Clinic at St. Joseph's Villa, 451 Bishop Federal Lane (1940 South).
The fair is sponsored by the Senior Life Club of Intermountain Health Care.Health screenings at the fair include blood tests (comprehensive metabolic profiles, $25), blood pressure, breast exams, skin cancer, diabetic retinopathy, cataract or glaucoma, dental, hearing, peripheral artery exams and lung function. Maintenance of healthy lifestyles and activities in con-junction with stroke and heart disease and education on diabetes and nutrition will be available.
So will screening and information for osteoporosis and risk assessment and nutrition facts. Families with a history of osteoporosis may be eligible to participate in studies looking for a genetic link, to be conducted by LDS Hospital.
