A recently launched U.S. satellite will spy on India and Pakistan, a published report said Friday.

The six-ton satellite, code-named Orion, was launched from Cape Canaveral, Fla., on May 8. India conducted a triple nuclear test three days later and two more tests on May 13.Aviation Week and Space Technology reported the Orion satellite is equipped with an antenna designed to pick up ground and other communications.

"Orion will eavesdrop on thousands of communications circuits and frequencies, proving information on Indian and Pakistani policy and military intentions," the aerospace trade journal reported in its May 18 issue.
