Young women from throughout the Intermountain area will compete Saturday, May 16, to be crowned queen of this summer's Days of '47 activities.

Contestants must be between 18 and 25 years old and descendants of Utah pioneers to be eligible to compete. A queen and two attendants will be chosen to reign over Days of '47 activities, ride in the July 24 parade and appear at the rodeo, Territorial Ball, Family Fun Day at Wheeler Farm and many other events.The public is invited to attend the judging May 16. The competition will begin at 2 p.m., with the final round at 6 p.m.

The competition will be in the West High School auditorium, 241 N. 300 West, Salt Lake City. People are advised to enter the auditorium behind the school on 400 West, where parking is available.
