Willis Val (Ham) Hamilton, age 80, died May 12, 1998 at the American Fork Hospital, due to causes incident to age.

He was born May 12, 1918 in Neola, Utah, to William David and Cora Beal Hamilton. He married Erma Makin in Holladay, Utah on May 3, 1940 and later solemnized in the Manti Temple, July 5, 1951. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He worked in the open hearth at Geneva Steel for 37 years. He was an avid sportsman, golfer, and gardener; he coached youth baseball and basketball.He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Jean (Tom) Bailey, Provo; Marleen (Jeff) Dunn, Escalante; Holly (Jonathan) Cox, American Fork; and one son, Dave (Chris) Hamilton, Midvale; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Allen Barbieri (Sandy); four sisters: Lila (Jack) Hansen, Lorraine (Gil) Brown, and Cleo (Charles) Adams, all of Lehi; Donna (Larry) Staley, Salt Lake City; one sister-in-law, Lois Hamilton, Coos Bay, Oregon. Preceded in death by one son, Val; one granddaughter, Lori Ann Hamilton; one great-grandson, Eric Jordan Eagle; one brother, Morgan Hamilton; and two sisters, Stella Larrabee and Norma Brackenbury.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 16, 1998 at 12 noon in the American Fork Hillcrest 3rd ward (350 West 690 North). Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary (49 East 100 North) and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial in the American Fork City Cemetery.
