The Utah Association of Life Underwriters, Society of Chartered Life Underwriters and Chartered Financial Consultants, and the General Agency Managers' Association awarded two men top honors at the a recent annual meeting in Ogden.

Rulon E. Rasmussen was given the group's 1998 Life Achievement Award. Utah native Glendon E. Johnson was given a Special Award for Industry Achievement.Rasmussen is president of Rasmussen Financial Group, which has offices in Salt Lake City and Phoenix. Currently, he is chairman of the Insurance, Risk Management and Financial Services Program at the Marriott School of Management, Brigham Young University, and is a member of the board of directors of Beneficial Life Insurance Co.

He is past president of the Internationl Million Dollar Round Table and was named by Leader's Magazine as one of the top life insurance agents in the United States.

Johnson is chairman of the board, president and CEO of John Alden Insurance Group in Miami, Fla. Johnson holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Utah and a law degree from Harvard Law School. He has had a long career in the insurance industry, including previous experience as president at American National Insurance Co. in Galveston, Texas.
