Crestview Elementary School principal Becky Tesch, above, congratulates students for their efforts in making 21 quilts for the "Community of Caring" program. At right, Samuel Conder, Isabel Patterson and Jeffrey Chris-ten-sen listen as Suzanne Wade of the Salt Lake County Girls Home accepts the quilts. Each student designed a quilting square around a classroom theme. Parent volunteers then came to the classroom and helped students sew and tie the quilts. The Girls Home is a transitional facility where children are placed when they are removed from their homes because of abuse and neglect.
