Passage of SB14 by the Legislature this year means that an employer now can require all employees to use electronic payroll deposit if two-thirds of the employees are willing to use that method and the company's Social Security deposits exceeded $250,000 in the previous calendar year.

In smaller companies or those that do not qualify on the two above requirements, an employee may refuse electronic deposit of paychecks by giving written notice to the employer. An employer cannot designate the financial institution used for the deposits.
