Delbert Baker Butters, 94, passed away May 7, 1998 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was born June 10, 1903 in Morgan, Utah. Delbert was the last of 16 children born to Thomas Uttley and Sarah Emma Baker Butters. He was raised in Morgan, Utah and ran his father's farm. He held many different jobs during his lifetime. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Delbert married Norma Cobabe and they had two children, they later divorced. On June 27, 1932 Delbert married Edna Carter in Ogden, Utah. June 17, 1947 they were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. The family moved to Salt Lake in March of 1953. Delbert retired from Mountain Fuel Co. July 1, 1968.Delbert was preceded in death by his wife, Edna; daughter, Betty Jean Peterson; two granddaughters, RaNae Adams, and Darla Kay Butters; and a great-granddaughter, Kali Adams. Survivors include two sons, Gale (Donna) Butters of Morgan, Utah, Eldon (Cherri) Butters of Salt Lake City; daughter, Roberta (Thayne) Bohman of Turah, Montana; 15 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday May 12, 1998 at 11 a.m. at Valley View Funeral Home 4335 West 4100 South. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the services Tuesday. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
