Phyllis N. Jensen, 78, passed away peacefully on May 7, 1998.
Born October 25, 1919 in Kemmerer, Wyoming to Arthur J. and Margaret Brim Nelson. She was raised in Pocatello, Idaho until she was called to serve a mission for the LDS Church to the Japanese mission in Hawaii. Her future husband, Ralph Jensen, also served in the same mission. They were later married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on May 1, 1943.Mom has fulfilled her callings with love, as Primary and Relief Society President and Stake Relief Society Board. She was a temple worker at the Salt Lake and Jordan River Temples and provided church service for the membership department. She had just recently been chosen to serve with the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Mom always served with love and loved those she served with. Mom adores her husband and they truly are the best of friends. She loves her family, parents and friends who are very dear to her heart.
She is survived by her husband; and four children, JoAnn (Gary) Rallison; Larry (Shirley) Jensen; Carol Jensen; Paul (Jennifer) Jensen; all residing in the Salt Lake area. They have 18 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; brother, Donald B. Nelson, Provo; sister, Shirley Hale, Tempe, Arizona. She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Howard B. Nelson.
Funeral service will be held Monday, May 11, 1998, 12 noon at the South Cottonwood 3rd Ward, 980 E. Revere Circle (5500 So.). Friends may call Sunday, 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State and Monday, 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
