Jay Leno couldn't repeat as America's top car buff.
The "Tonight" show host and past winner was passed over for Collector Car Hobby Person of the Year in favor of two men who organize the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, a car show dubbed the Oscars of vintage automobiles."I was kind of hoping I would be the first person to win the award twice, but it didn't go that way. So instead they chose two men to do the job of one," Leno said in a videotaped tribute to Jules Heumann and Lorin Tryon.
Leno was taping his show in Chicago last week and couldn't make Thursday night's award gala at the Petersen Automotive Museum.
