Jazz 95, Spurs 75
SAN ANTONIO - Many figured homecourt advantage would decide this second-round playoff series. So when the Jazz obliterated the Spurs in Game 1, the advantage shifted in their favor, and it was one Utah never relinquished.
The Jazz scored early and often as they stormed to a commanding first-half lead. But in typical Jazz fashion, the lead wouldn't last. David Robinson cut the lead to three on the Spurs' first possession of the second half. However, Utah promptly went on a 17-5 run to squash any rally.
"Tonight was a plain, old-fashioned whupping," Spurs coach Bob Hill said. "We have a lot of work to do."
The work didn't have the desired affect because the Jazz held serve and won the series 4-2.
Jazz top scorer: Karl Malone, 23
Spurs top scorer: David Robinson, 29
