What will be the legacy left to Utah's children and grandchildren by the Legacy Highway?
I fear that we need look no further than Southern California, where historically the answer to growth has been the building of more highways along the urban Los Angeles corridor. After the Legacy Highway is built, we Utahns can look forward to "enjoying" the same quality of life they now have in Los Angeles: more congestion, sprawl, concrete, traffic, pollution and road rage. This is not a legacy to be proud of.An ancient proverb states: "If we do not change direction, we will likely end up where we are headed." Please, let us consider changing direction on the Legacy Highway before it's too late: before we forever destroy the beauty and quality of life which have made Utah a unique and desirable place to live.
