Heads up, bicycle enthusiasts and all who just want to get out and enjoy the warmer weather: May is National Bicycle Month, and there are many activities ahead.

- Saturday, May 9, from 2 to 6 p.m., the Bike Bonanza at the City County Building will feature a youth bike rodeo, races, bike inspections, BMX stunt riders and bike licensing. The Utah Transit Authority will show how to put bikes on buses, and information will be available about bike paths and future trail plans. All events are free. There will be free hot dogs and Rocky Mountain Water.- Saturday, May 16, the Cycle Salt Lake Century tour is one of Salt Lake's most popular bike rides, featuring 28-, 67-, and 100-mile routes. The tour begins at the Utah State Fairgrounds at 7 a.m. and continues to Antelope Island. All cyclists are welcome, but participants must register. Registration forms are available at the mayor's office, 535-7704; Utah Department of Transportation Community Relations, 965-4189; or local bicycle shops.

- Tuesday, May 19 is National Bike to Work Day.

Bicyclists are reminded to wear helmets and observe safety measures.
