Salt Lake City has formed a community design team to work with the Salt Lake City Airport Authority and consultants to design the new terminal planned for Salt Lake International Airport.

Airport Authority executive director Russ Widmar, city planning director Bill Wright and Redevelopment Agency director Alice Steiner will represent the city on the committee.Representing the community will be Day Christensen, Annette Cumming, Jake Garn, Craig Hayes, Peter Lassig, Mary Kay Lazarus, Chieko Okazaki, Max Smith and Louis Ulrich.

"This is one of several programs we will put into place to ensure that the community has opportunities to give input into the design of this important landmark," Mayor Deedee Corradini said in a press release.

The committee will meet monthly through October to help design the building, and make sure it reflects the community and fits in with other structures to be built as part of the airport's 20-year, $1.7 billion expansion plan.
