Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Doris Catherine Hoffman died May 5, 1998.

She was born May 20, 1920 in Arvada, Wyoming to Rex and Esther Broaddus Martindale. She married James P. Hoffman on April 26, 1944 in Houston, Texas. They moved to Salt Lake City in 1945. She was a member of St. Ann's Parish since 1956. She enjoyed her garden and roses and her friends and family.She is survived by her husband, James; son, George (Dorothy) Hoffman, of Estacada, Oregon; daughter, Mary (Patrick) Hyland, of Magna, Utah; eight grandchildren, Timothy (Nickie) Hoffman; Jennifer Hyland; Thomas (Molly) Hoffman; Julianne (Daniel) Hyland; Gary (Crystal) Hyland; Dorothy Hoffman; Sarah Hoffman and Catherine Hyland; three great-grandchildren, Vanessa, Samatha and one to arrive after great-grandma holds them; sister, Jan (Ray) Taylor, of Salt Lake City; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers.

A special thanks to the staff of St. Joseph Villa and all of mom's loving friends and family.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 450 East 2100 So. A vigil service will be held Thursday at 8 p.m. also at the church, where friends may call from 7-8 p.m. Funeral directors, Neil O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kearns-St. Ann's School, 430 East 2100 So., Salt Lake City, UT 84115.
