Vivian Nina Crapo Larsen, 80, of Thayne, Wyoming, died Monday, May 4, 1998, in Star Valley Care Center, Afton, Wyoming of cancer.

Born September 7, 1917 in Gleichen, Alberta, Canada, to Joseph Kimball Crapo and Orby Ann Harmon. The family moved to Fairview, Wyoming, when she was about eight years old. Graduated from Star Valley High School. Married David Maxwell Larsen in the Logan LDS Temple June 18, 1937. They settled on a farm in Thayne, where they lived all their married lives. He died in 1988.Vivian had great faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and was active in the LDS Church. She was well-known for her quilt-making, great patience, hard work, beautiful singing voice and loving care of her family. Good-bye most wonderful Mother!

She is survived by nine children, Barbara(Rubin) Anderson, Kanosh; Sharon (Dell) Van Orden, Lavell (Gloria) Larsen, Joel (Alecia)Larsen, all West Valley City; David (Lana) Larsen, Sandy; Maxine (Jamie) Smith, Kearns; Kevan (Patty) Larsen, Vernal Larsen, Mark (JoAnn) Larsen, Thayne, Wyoming; 44 grandchildren 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce (Wendell) Draney, Thelma Millward.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry; great-grandson, Charles Wood, Jr.; brothers, Asa, Ralph, Willis, Linford, Gerald, Alvin Crapo; sisters, Vera Bagley, Grace Barney, Melba Crapo.

Funeral service will be Saturday 12 noon, May 9, in the Thayne, Wyoming LDS Stake Center. Friends may call Friday, May 8, at the Stake Center from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. prior to service. Burial, Thayne, Wyoming Cemetery. Schwab Mortuary, funeral directors.
