Alvin Dixon Broadbent, age 74 of Lehi, died Friday, May 1, 1998, at Utah Valley Hospital following an illness.

He was born June 23, 1923, in Lehi, Utah to Joseph Samuel and Annie Shaw Broadbent. Married Lois Jean Olson on July 31, 1947 in Ely, Nevada. Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a fireman and a scout leader for many years, receiving the Silver Beaver Award. He was a High Priest in the Lehi Wines Park Ward and worked in the Provo Temple for 14 years.He is survived by his wife of Lehi; eight children, Sharon (Gary) Stults, Joe (Virginia) Broadbent, both of W. Valley; Debra (Gil) Darling, Elko, NV.; Mary Buxton, W. Valley; Marsha (Tom) Herrera, American Fork; Steve (Mary) Broadbent, Sandy; Diane (Mike) Adams, American Fork; Rebecca Gutierrez, Lehi; 27 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, John (Alice) Broadbent, Lehi; sister, Edith Haws, Lehi.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 6, at 11 a.m. in the Lehi Stake Center, 200 No. Center, Lehi. Friends may call at the Wing Mortuary, 118 E. Main, Lehi, Tuesday evening 7-9 p.m. and at the church Wednesday one hour prior to services. Interment, Lehi City Cemetery.
