Virginia May Lund Hintze, 76, of Provo, died Sunday, May 3, 1998, at her home.

She was born January 8, 1922, in Manti, Utah, a daughter of Melvin Miller and Stella May Domgaard Lund. She married Royal Sears Hintze, July 12, 1946, in the Manti LDS Temple. He died June 18, 1981.She graduated from Manti High School and Snow College. She enjoyed her family, sewing, crafts, gardening, and china painting.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has served in many positions including as a Relief Society presidency member, homemaking leader, temple worker and supervisor at the Provo LDS Temple.

She is survived by her children, Jerry (Janet) Lund Hintze, Kaysville, Utah; Scott (Cheryl) Lund Hintze, Lakeshore, Utah; JoLynn (Nelson) Hintze Carter, Emily Ann (Rex) Hintze Jensen, Mark (Mona) Lund Hintze, all of Provo, Utah; her 25 grandchildren, one great grandchild; and brother and sisters, LaRetta (Max) Lund Blair, Sacramento, California; Glen K. (Ann) Lund, Bountiful, Utah; and Shirley (Gardello) Lund Nay, Orem, Utah. She was preceded in death by two brother, Ralph K. Lund, and Donald M. Lund; and a granddaughter, Brianne.

Funeral services under the direction of Walker Sanderson Funeral Home of Orem will be held Tuesday, May 5, 1998, at 12 noon in the Edgemont North Stake Center, 4300 North Canyon Road, Provo. Friends may call Tuesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the stake center prior to the services. Burial will be in the East Lawn Memorial Hills Cemetery, Provo, Utah.
