Frank V. Lieberman, Ph.D., died Thursday, April 23, 1998, in Boulder, CO. He was 86.

He was born August 26, 1911, in Newark, N.J., to Jacob Lieberman and Anna Tuite Lieberman. He married Margaret Beck on March 23, 1941, in Salt Lake City. She died in 1982.He received a doctorate from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, and was an undergraduate there also.

He was a research entomologist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. During his career, he directed research laboratories and taught at Utah State University, Montana State University and the University of Arizona.

He moved to Boulder in 1969 from Arizona.

Mr. Lieberman was a volunteer for Project Head Start, The Native American Rights Fund and the Friend's School.

Survived include his daughter, Joan Lieberman of Boulder, a sister, Alice Marshall of Salt Lake City; and two grandchildren.

Memorial services were held on April 26, 1998 in Boulder, CO.
