A father pleaded guilty Friday to locking his 7-year-old daughter at night in a dog cage in a cold, dark basement.
Michael Rogers, 28, pleaded guilty to child abuse and could get up to 40 years in prison. His wife, Angeline, 28, is awaiting trial on similar charges.The parents were arrested in November after their 11-year-old son walked barefoot and coatless in freezing weather to a police station to report what happened to his sister.
The girl was found in the unheated basement of the family home in Brillion, about 80 miles north of Milwaukee. She was in a 17-by-24-inch cage. Her blanket was drenched in urine and covered with feces.
