Rockets 95, Jazz 91
SALT LAKE CITY - "It's our year" quickly turned into wait until next year. A year after losing to Houston in the Western Conference Finals, the Rockets again bounced the Jazz from the playoffs. This time it was a 3-2 series win in the first round.
"I just can't believe we're not going to be going to the gym tomorrow," said David Benoit. "It's strange, but it's going to be a long summer."
Superstars get tabbed with such an image because they step up in big games. Hakeem Olajuwon (12 points, 3 rebounds) and Clyde Drexler (8 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists) did exactly that in the final quarter. Jazz stars John Stockton (four missed shots and zero assists) and Karl Malone (nine points) were basically absent.
Jazz top scorer: Karl Malone, 35
Rockets top scorer: Hakeem Olajuwon, 33
