It's time again for the Scout-O-Rama, an annual event for Scouts and Scouting enthusiasts across the state. The two-day event will take place Friday evening and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Utah State Fairpark.

The pre-show will begin Friday at 8:30 p.m., featuring vocal and instrumental group "Cambridge" at the Grand Stand.Saturday events include:

- 9:30 a.m. - Grand Parade, with Grand Marshal Luther Ellis, defensive tackle for the Detroit Lions and a former University of Utah standout; the Jazz Bear; and other dignitaries.

- 10 a.m. Opening Ceremony at the center lawn area north of the Grand Building.

- 11 a.m. "Good Morning Scout-O-Rama" presentation by Kim Peek, the inspiration for the film "Rain Man." Peek will speak again at 1:30 p.m. Both presentations will be at the Center Stage No. 2.

Center Stage will host a number of shows, entertainment and educational presentations throughout the day.

About 15,000 boys and their leaders will participate with more than 800 booths and displays. In addition, the Scout-O-Rama will feature presentations on camping, pioneering, Dutch oven cooking and Pinewood Derby events.

Tickets may be purchased from local Scouts or Saturday at the Fairpark.
