Robert Marion Allen, age 56, passed away April 24, 1998 in Oatman, Arizona taking his last ride on his Harley Davidson.
Born January 22, 1942 in Denver, Colorado, son of Lorraine Rollar and Elizabeth Jane Butterbaugh Allen. Married Ann Patricia Brady, August 9, 1963. Graduated from Granger High School in 1960. Bob always loved horses and started riding at a young age winning ribbons, trophies and belt buckles. He started riding in rodeos and participated in the high school national finals. Rode many years in the RMRA, then found Quarter Horses and started racing, making many friends in all the places he raced, Idaho, Colorado, Arizona, California, New Mexico and Texas. Everyone that knew Bob knew he had a great sense of humor and loved to wear flashy sun glasses and bright colored sport coats along with his matching colored cowboy boots from which came the nickname "Hollywood Bob". He was always the center of attention everywhere he went. He had a great love for his family always helping them and others along the way. Bob brought sunshine into the lives of all who knew him, always a joke or just teasing. He will always be remembered.Survived by wife, Ann; children, Robert Marion (Donna) Allen, II; Brandie (Troy) Monty; Shannon Allen; five grandchildren, Ashley; Riley; Ciara; Alexis; and Harleigh, who all loved "Grandpa Bob" dearly; brother, Ronald Allen, ; sisters, Susan Winn, ; Judy Serviss, . Preceded in death by parents; brother, Larry Allen; nephew, Mike Allen.
Funeral service will be held Monday, 12 noon at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, where friends may call Sunday, 5-8 p.m. and Monday, one hour prior to service. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
