Grand County sheriff's deputies on Tuesday recovered the body of a fire-fighter from South Ogden who died when he fell during a mountain-biking outing.

Robb Stinger, 35, was riding on a trail with friends on Monday when he went over a sheer drop in the mountains outside of southeastern Utah's Moab.Deputies retrieved Stinger's body about 9 a.m. Tuesday. His remains were turned over to his family, a sheriff's dispatcher said.

Stinger, who has a wife and two young children, had been with the South Ogden Fire Department for more than six years. He had recently been hired as a full-time firefighter for Salt Lake City Fire Department. Before that, he had been a full-time firefighter for Ogden.
