A one-night touring performance of A.R. Gurney's "Love Letters," starring Robert Wagner and Jill St. John, which had been scheduled for May 9 at the Capitol Theatre, has been canceled due to low ticket sales.
The production was being brought to Salt Lake City by Evening Star Productions, Inc., based in Tempe, Ariz."Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase," according to Mary Passarella, an Evening Star spokesman.
Tickets, which had ranged from $35 to $42.50, were available from all ArtTix outlets, including the Capitol Theatre and selected Albertsons stores. For further information, call ArtTix at 355-2787.
A second, unrelated production of "Love Letters," starring Carol Burnett and a yet-to-be-announced costar, will be staged July 28 at Sundance as a benefit for the Sundance Theatre's artistic programs. For tickets, call the Sundance box office at 1-801-225-4100.
