Incumbent David H. Steele and challenger Jeffrey Ostler will square off in a primary for State Senate District 21, based on voting results at Saturday's Davis County Republican Convention.

Steele tallied 57.5 percent of the April 25 convention votes and Ostler had 42.5 percent. A 70 percent or higher margin is needed for candidates of the same party to avoid a primary. The Steele-Ostler results were inadvertently omitted from Sunday's story on the results of the convention.

Also, as a matter of clarification, Michelle D. Arciaga withdrew from the State House District 15 race on April 6, leaving incumbent Blake Chard the only Republican candidate.
