A Salt Lake man has been charged in 3rd Circuit Court in connection with a sequence of traffic accidents in which a passenger in the vehicle he was driving was killed, court rec-ords said.

Michael Seiber, 53, was charged Tuesday with criminal vehicular homicide, driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to stop at the scene of an accident, the records said.Witnesses told police that on April 14 a car driven by Seiber slammed into a car at 400 E. Third South in which they were parked and then left the scene, the records said.

Other witnesses told police the vehicle then entered the intersection at 300 E. Eighth South against the light and struck a Utah Transit Authority bus, injuring two passengers in the bus.

A.V. Jones, a passenger in the Seiber vehicle, was severely injured in the second accident and was pronounced dead by a state medical examiner, the records said.

Blood taken from Seiber was analyzed and found to contain .27 percent alcohol. The legal driving limit is .08 percent.
