Tim Chatelain has been named superintendent of the Weber School District.

Currently Weber assistant superintendent, Chatelain will take the helm following the June 30 retirement of Superintendent Steve Mecham.Chatelain received degrees from Weber State and Utah State universities before earning a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from Brigham Young University.

Described as concerned about student challenges and skilled in planning and conflict resolution, Chatelain aims to continue cooperative efforts with the community, celebrate diversity and continue a climate of caring and teamwork for the best interest of students.

Chatelain and his wife, Dawn Nye Chatelain, have four children. The couple resides in North Ogden.
