City officials are asking for residents' project ideas and volunteer service in a new "Citizens' Neighborhood Action Committee."

Mayor Hal Wing said he decided to set up the organization after receiving numerous offers from residents to volunteer time and talents to the city. Wing said he also noticed several community projects that needed to be done, and he felt they could best be accomplished through a pooling of resources from various sectors of the city.Wing envisions an organization that would include groups such as the Rotary and Kiwanis clubs, Veterans of Foreign Wars, senior citizens and representatives from the Utah Department of Transportation, Nebo School District and several churches.

The group will undertake various city beautification and improvement projects, Wing said.

He asks residents who are interested in participating, or who might have a project idea, to contact him.
