The City Council will hold a public work session Tuesday, April 28, to discuss a current proposal for additional parks and an expanded recreation department in the city.
The meeting will include, but not be limited to, a proposed skateboard park that has created some controversy. The overall proposal includes a youth park at approximately 850 W. 1500 South with the skate park, volleyball pits and a picnic area. It also includes strip parks throughout the city for jogging, walking, and bicycling as well as an expanded recreation department."It hope it (the overall proposal) is about more than one small piece of dirt," said Councilman Darin Hicks, in reference to the skate park.
The meeting is set for 5 p.m. in the council chambers at 1555 S. 800 West. No formal decisions will be made.
