Tourists at a seaside resort near Tijuana are sharing the view with gun-toting troops after the Mexican government seized the hotel for alleged links to a drug cartel.

Soldiers clad in black patrolled the grounds at the Oasis Resort Playa Mar on Sunday as visitors splashed in the swimming pool.Federal police and government soldiers raided the resort Friday, and the Mexican government later took over operation of the hotel, officials said.

"It was kind of scary actually driving in," hotel guest Holly White told San Diego's KFMB-TV as she and a friend sat in a hot tub sipping drinks. "We drove in and I saw them standing at the gate with guns."

The seizure was ordered after officials confirmed the resort belonged to Manuel Aguirre Galindo, the federal Attorney General's Office said.
