Don LeRoy Hunter, born May 12, 1918, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Joseph Franklin and Josephine Nicolene Larsen Hunter, returned to his Heavenly Father on April 25, 1998.

Don graduated from American Fork High School and attended LDS Business College, and BYU. A veteran of World War II, he served in the South Pacific. Don was employed at Utah Power for 36 years, retiring as a procedure writer in 1981. He married Aleen Sanderson October 28, 1949, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They are the parents of four children: JoAnn, Craig (Collene), Steven (Debbie), and Neal (Donna).Don was an active member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in many church positions including bishop of the Kemmerer 1st Ward, Kemmerer, Wyoming; Stake High Councilman, temple worker in the Jordan River LDS Temple, and Stake Patriarch in the Granger South Stake. He was a character who saw the humor in every situation. People naturally liked him and while we are happy for him, he will be missed.

Don is survived by his wife and children; 14 grandchildren; two sisters, Emma Privett and Norma (Roy) Riska; two sister-in-laws, Thella (John) Fagg and Vera Hunter; and many extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 1998, at the Condie Park Ward Chapel, 4251 South 4800 West. Friends may call Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, and one hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the church. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
