Anne Lovell Wager Smith passed away April 24, 1998 at her home in Salt Lake.
She was born August 12, 1906 in Salt Lake City to Jesse and Anne Marie Josephine Fredriksen Wager. Married Henry Allen Smith, June 30, 1926 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died June 24, 1984. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was active in primary as a teacher and counselor. She served several times as ward Relief Society President, and was a counselor in the Pioneer Stake Relief Society Presidency. She served with her husband when he was called as mission president in the Central Atlantic States Mission from 1955-1959. She was a beloved mission mother to all the missionaries who served with them.Lovell was an accomplished seamstress, a wonderful cook, and she enjoyed knitting, crocheting and handwork. She was an avid reader of good books and instilled a love of reading and homemaking skills in her daughters. She was a member of the Acacia Club, a group of women who met together for nearly 50, since they were Gleaner Girls in the 6th/7th ward.
Survived by daughters, Nola S. (Sterling B.) Weed, Raleigh, N.C.; Kathryn S. (Sherman D.) Brown, Orem, Utah; Myrna B. Smith, Salt Lake City; and Julie S. (Robert B.) Lambert, Draper, Utah; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband; infant son, David Mark; parents; brother, Jess; and sister, Ruth.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 28, 1998 at 12 noon at the Winder Stake Center, 4366 South 1500 East. Friends and family may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, and Wednesday 10:45-11:45 a.m. at the Stake Center. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
