Six Davis School District employees have resigned or been disciplined this year for downloading pornography on district computers.

Three employees were either fired or allowed to quit during the course of investigations. An elementary school principal, whose identity was not released, took early retirement last month.Others were disciplined via written reprimand or placed on unpaid suspension, said Mel Miles, district personnel director.

School officials said the six were caught downloading pornography through safeguard software UtahLINK. The system, recently implemented by the State Board of Education, is designed to block and detect access by students and staff to sex, hate, violence, gambling and weapons sites.
