Rosalynn Carter sees progress and the work that lies ahead as she champions the plight of the mentally ill.
The former first lady continues working to fight the stigma of mental illness through her latest book, "Helping Someone With Mental Illness: A Compassionate Guide for Family, Friends and Care-givers.""This book is one that I've wanted to write for a very long time because so much progress has been made," she said Thursday. "Mental illnesses are now definable, can be diagnosed and treated . . . and people can lead productive lives."
