Olive Leila Fuller Shepherd, 90, a Santa Clara resident, died April 22, 1998 at her home.

Olive was born November 30, 1907 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Amos Alvin and Sarah Rachel Fuller. She married Robert L. Shepherd, of Salt Lake City, June 21, 1932 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Olive and Robert moved from Salt Lake City to California so he could paint a mural in the Los Angeles LDS Temple and pursue his art career. Olive spent her life loving and serving her children, husband, extended family and friends. She took care of her mother-in-law, as well as her aunt-in-law, in their later years of life. She had a 2-year degree to teach elementary education, was musically talented, taught piano lessons, enjoyed directing music, and sang with the St. George chorale group. Olive loved gardening and was a knowledgeable herbalist and nutritionist. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions in church organizations throughout her life. She loved the Lord and was always involved in performing charitable, compassionate acts. Olive was also a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.Olive will be dearly missed by those she leaves behind: a daughter, Sandra Weaver; and her husband, Ross, from Santa Clara, Utah; their six children; and six grandchildren; a son, Larry Shepherd and his wife, Marsha from Buhl, Idaho; their three children; a brother, Conrad Fuller, living in Farmington, Utah; and a sister-in-law, Roma Fuller, from Salt Lake City, Utah. Olive was preceded in death by her husband on March 29, 1991.

Funeral service will be held Friday, April 24, 1998, 2 p.m. in the Santa Clara LDS Stake Center, 1706 N. Desert Dawn Drive, Santa Clara, Utah, where friends may call 12:30 to 1:30 prior to service at the Stake Center. Interment will be Saturday, 11 a.m. at Wasatch Lawn Cemetery, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah. Arrangements under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary, 673-4221.
