Ethel Barrow Knight, age 84, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 1998, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Salt Lake City on October 2, 1913, to Joseph Lemuel Barrow and Violet Coy Barrow. Married Richard Kenneth Knight on May 11, 1936, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.She grew up in Salt Lake, graduating from LDS High School and LDS Business College. After marriage, she lived in Cova and Grace Camps, and the town of Grace in southeastern Idaho. Later moved to Laramie, Wyoming. Moved back to Salt Lake in 1951. Prior to marriage, she worked as a secretary for the Jewel T. Company in Salt Lake.
Active member of the LDS Church. Taught Primary for many years. Served as secretary of various ward organizations. She was a visiting teacher and teacher in Relief Society. Worked in the German name extraction program.
Survived by three daughters, Marilyn (Dan) Green of Salt Lake; Colleen (Brent) Bowen, Fairfax, VA; and Pat Knight of Vienna, VA; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law; the wives of three brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother Cliff M. Barrow.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 22, 1998, at Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3315 East 7800 South. Friends may call one hour prior to services.
The family deeply appreciates all who assisted in mother's care. We are grateful for a mother who loved us, gave us wise guidance, and who was always there for us.
