Florence May Fletcher, 92, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away April 18, 1998, due to causes incident to age.
Born June 24, 1905, in Nottingham, England, to Henry and Florence Shelton Dennis. She married William Henry Kiddy, June 8, 1929. They had a beautiful daughter together. William died in 1952. Married James Archer Fletcher, July 3, 1954; he passed away in 1971.After James' death, she came to America to live with her daughter. She was musically talented with a beautiful soprano voice and an ability to play the piano by ear. She sang in England with the Singing Mothers and in Orem with the Senior Citizens band. She maintained her beautiful voice and love of music right up until her death.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she gave service as a Relief Society President and in many other callings. She served the elderly and anyone who needed her. She also enjoyed service in the Provo LDS Temple.
She is survived by her daughter, Florence May Maisie Van Mondfrans, and son-in-law, Adrian Van Mondfrans; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the administration, staff, nurses, and all who cared for Duckie at Orem Nursing and Rehab for the past nine years. They have loved her and cared for her like family. We will all miss her happy temperament and love of fun.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 22, 1998, at 11:30 a.m. in the Sunset Heights Stake Center, 400 West 1200 South, Orem. Friends may call from 10:45 to 11:15 a.m. prior to the services. Interment, Orem City Cemetery. Services under the direction of Berg Mortuary of Provo.
