Hyrum Charles Solomon returned to his Father in Heaven on April 18, 1998 to join his loved ones who preceded him in death.
Hyrum was born on December 18, 1914, in Granger, Utah, to James Wylie and Ethel Solomon. He married Maurine Bateman on November 25, 1935, and remained her devoted companion for 62 years. His life was dedicated to loving his family and serving the Lord. He was a perfect example to all who knew him. Hyrum served in many callings of the LDS church and devoted countless hours to the maintenance and upkeep of the Magna Chapel. He retired from the Kennecott Smelter after 40 years of service.He is survived by his wife, Maurine; daughter, Edith (Ted) Thomas of Kaysville; and son, Jim (Susan) Solomon of Farmington. Hyrum and Maurine are extremely proud of their 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Darlene (Bill) Jensen; brothers, Robert and Fred; and sister, LaRue (Ned) Grant.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 21, 1998, 11 a.m. at the Magna Central Stake Center, 8181 West 3320 South. Friends may call Monday, 6-8 p.m. at the Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, and Tuesday, 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Elysian Gardens.
