Trevor Rees-Jones, the bodyguard who was the sole survivor of the car crash that killed Princess Diana, has quit working for Harrods boss Mohamed Al Fayed.
Rees-Jones wants to "move forward" with his life after the Aug. 31 tragedy in Paris, according to a statement issued Monday through his lawyer, Crawford Lucas."It is for this reason that I have decided, with regret, to end my present employment," Rees-Jones said.
Al Fayed's son, Dodi, who was Diana's beau, and their chauffeur Henri Paul also died in the crash.
Rees-Jones, 29, thanked "my employers and Mr. Mo-ha-med Al Fayed personally for the help and support they have given me through this difficult time."
Rees-Jones, who was badly injured in the crash, has little memory of events.
