Mary Ann was born in Weirton, West Virginia to Anna and Luka Yakunich. She was a pioneer in womens' athletics; swimming, basketball and softball. Her greatest accomplishments were as wife, mother and grandmother.

Mary Ann married Harry R. Bolam on January 25, 1952 in Wellsburg, West Virginia. She left home in August 1952 to join her husband as he completed Air Force duty and college at Rapid City, South Dakota. They moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in Dec. 1958. The couple was blessed with four children; Michael (Sharon), Matthew (Marianne), Marian (Tory), and Margaret (Ted). They were further blessed with five (soon to be seven) grandchildren; Mackenzie, Parker, Maddison, Luke and Erika. Mary Ann worked 24 years for the Salt Lake City School Lunch Program. She was praised for her work and famous for her rapport with the children. Mary Ann had a positive influence on everyone she knew, especially those in need. Mary Ann bravely battled cancer.

The Bolam family wishes to thank Dr. Anna Beck, and all the care givers and administrative personnel who were so special to her.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, and siblings; Katie, John and Pete Porec; and Mildred, Louie and Margaret (Babe) Yakunich. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and brother, Frank Porec.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 715 West 300 North. A vigil service will be held Monday, 7 p.m. at the Neil O'Donnell & Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100 South, where friends may call from 6 to 7 p.m. Committal, Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Mary Ann was an avid JAZZ fan, and wishes the team the very best in the play-offs.
