Nathan Wallace Kofford is now serving his eternal mission following a tragic automobile accident on April 16, 1998.
Nathan was born April 2, 1979 in Salt Lake City to Marilyn Wallace and V. Lewis Kofford. He graduated from American Fork High School and attended Utah State University on a drama scholarship. He had been called to serve in the Taiwan, Taichung Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was to have entered the MTC on Wednesday, April 22. Nate loved life and attacked it with a smile. His sense of humor, his positive attitude, and his genuine care for others kept him surrounded by friends and loved ones throughout his life. Nate loved drama and shared his incredible natural talent since grade school in numerous plays and musicals. He won the Outstanding Shakespearean Actor award for American Fork High School during his senior year and recently starred in the lead roles (identical twins) in Ring Round the Moon at Utah State. Besides drama, Nate enjoyed family trips to Lake Powell, snowboarding, watching old musicals, writing lyrics, disco dancing, and being the family clown.Nate will be especially missed by his nieces and nephews who thought of him as their big brother. He is survived by his parents, Alpine; brothers and sisters, Greg (Cynthia) Kofford, Sandy; Pam (Phil) Reschke, Alpine; Kim (Jeff) McKone, West Jordan; Angie (Dallin) Poulsen, West Jordan; Jon (Kati) Kofford, Provo; grandparents, Helen Kofford, American Fork; Melbourne and Zaida Wallace, Orem; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Verl Kofford.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 21, at ll a.m. in the Alpine 7th Ward chapel (165 No. 100 East) Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the Ward chapel in Alpine. Interment will be in the Alpine City Cemetery under the direction of Anderson & Sons Mortuary.
