Reid Adams Heywood, 78, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, passed away April 15, 1998 in Bountiful from cancer.

Born October 18, 1919 in Layton, Utah to George Shirley Heywood and Vina Hillary Adams. He married Miriam Jane Bugh on September 5, 1944 in Kaysville, Utah.He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II in the Pacific theater. He was a premier hair stylist for ZCMI for 16 years and then opened his own salons and worked until retirement. He enjoyed woodworking, remote control airplanes and was an avid aviator.

He is survived by his wife, Jane; son, Travis (Chris), South Jordan; daughter, Cindy (Greg) Ellett, West Bountiful; five grandsons; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Inez Randall and Irene Jenson; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Heywood. Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at South Davis Community Hospital and Susan Knudsen for their loving care of Mr. Heywood.

He was one of life's characters and his sense of humor will be missed by all.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 18, 1998 at 1 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main. Friends may call Friday evening from 7-8 p.m. and Saturday from 11:45-12:45 prior to service. A graveside service will be held Monday, April 20, 1998 at 3 p.m. at the Lakeview Cemetery in Bountiful.
