Salt Lake attorney Mary Anne Q. Wood has been elected to the board of directors of Beneficial Life Insurance Co.
Wood, who fills the vacancy created by the resignation of 17-year board member F. Wayne Chamberlain, started her own law firm, currently known as Wood Crapo LLC, eight years ago and has taught and practiced law for 22 years.A graduate of Brigham Young University, Wood attended the University of Utah law school and graduated from George Washington University law school in Washington, D.C.
She received her juris doctorate in 1976 and currently serves as a visiting professor of law at BYU. Wood is a recipient of the Secretary of Defense Outstanding Public Service Medal and currently is a member of the Utah Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Rules of Civil Procedure.
Beneficial Life, founded in 1905, is one of the largest life insurance companies in the region.
