A North Redwood man has been charged with shooting two men last week.
According to 3rd District Court charges filed Tuesday, on April 8 the man, a member of the Salt Lake Posse gang, and at least two others fired numerous rounds at Richard Villanueva, 16, Fairpark, Shawn Watson, 18, address unknown, and Armondo Almodovar, 20, North Redwood, who were standing in front of 324 N. Star Crest Drive.Watson was hit in the foot and abdomen, and Villanueva was shot in the chest. Both victims were treated at LDS Hospital.
The victims are "rival gang members from Diamond Street," the charges state. Investigators recovered several bullet casings at the scene. At least two rounds hit a house and a neighbor's car.
The suspect, 19, North Redwood, has been charged with three counts of attempted murder, a second-degree felony. Prosecutors say each count is subject to enhanced penalties because the offenses were committed in concert with two or more people.
The suspect is being held at the Salt Lake Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.
