Veteran soap opera actor James Reynolds can't be blamed for slacking off.
Reynolds, who plays a tough but fair police commander on the NBC soap "Days of Our Lives," is also putting the finishing touches on a one-man play he penned about the black experience in America."There's an American experience that is unique in the world and all of us share it," Reynolds said. "Yet, the black American experience is a lost experience, a lost history I feel compelled to share."
The result is "I, Too, Am America" - a two-act play that compiles speeches, poems, thoughts and feelings of slaves, ex-slaves, ministers, politicians, educators and musicians.
