Utah Chamber Artists will conclude another season with a spring concert Monday, April 13, at First Presbyterian Church at 8 p.m. Under the baton of Barlow Bradford, the chamber choir will apply their refined sound to daunting accompaniments for the 11 Gypsy Songs. Fold music from Hun-ga-ry provided Brahms with the texts and the inspiration for these virtuoso choral settings.
Brahms' Violin Sonata in D minor will be played by David Porter of the Utah Symphony in the solo violin role, with Paulina Zamora as pianist. The choir will join with a jazz ensemble for popular selections from the 1940s and '50s.This concert winds up a season that has seen the versatile chamber artists in a variety of roles.
