Box Elder County dairy farmers Dee and Edna Hardy recently received the Governor's Award at Utah's annual dairy convention.

The award is given to a family that has united its efforts to work successfully in the dairy industry and community. The Hardys and their four sons milk 720 cows and raise another 700 young stock. They also are primary shareholders in a separate dairy in Honeyville.Also at the convention, Lois Wright of Elberta received the Utah Dairy Women's Association's inaugural award for her dedication and commitment to the industry, her family and the community; Cary G. Peterson, Utah's commissioner of agriculture and food, was given the Service to the Industry Award; and 80-year-old LaMar Spackman of Richmond received the Old Timers Award.
